The standard we work to

Supply that stands up to scrutiny

If you supply a major retailer, your supplier approval process is not a formality. The ingredient has to be right, the paperwork has to be right, and both have to stay right on the twentieth delivery as well as the first.

We qualify every producer before anything is quoted. We supply the documentation as standard rather than on request. And where something changes, whether that is a specification, an origin or a producer, you hear it from us before it arrives on your line.

Tenacity is certificated under the BRCGS Agents and Brokers standard, the scheme written for businesses that source and supply rather than manufacture.

Before we quote

How we qualify a producer

Nothing gets quoted on the strength of a brochure.

01

Check the certification is real and current

Certificates expire, and scope matters as much as the badge. We check what the producer is actually certificated for, not just that they hold something.

02

Match the specification to your requirement

A product that meets a general standard may still be wrong for your process. We compare the producer specification against what you have told us you need, and raise the gaps before quoting.

03

Test the supply, not just the sample

Anyone can send a good sample. What matters is whether the producer can hold that specification at your volume, to your schedule, repeatedly.

04

Keep checking

Approval is not a one off. We monitor performance order to order, and we will move a requirement to another producer if quality or reliability slips.

Batch coded and traceable through to the producer
Traceability

Every load, back to source

Traceability only matters on the day something goes wrong. That is the day you need to know exactly which batches went into which production run, and where they came from, without spending two days reconstructing it.

Stock is batch coded and documented through to the producer, so a query can be answered in hours rather than days. If you need to run a mock recall as part of your own certification, tell us and we will support it.

Certification

BRCGS Agents and Brokers

The global standard written specifically for businesses that source, supply and broker food ingredients rather than manufacture them. It covers supplier approval, traceability, product authenticity and the management systems behind them.

Common questions

Quality and compliance

What certification does Tenacity hold?

Tenacity is certificated under the BRCGS Agents and Brokers standard. We will send the current certificate on request, and we are clear about which standards are ours and which are held by the producer.

Tell us which standard your customer requires and we will confirm whether we can supply against it before you commit. Certification narrows the producer list and can affect lead time and minimum order.

Specification, certificate of analysis where applicable, allergen and origin information, and batch coding on the delivery. If your quality team needs something specific, ask at the quote stage.

Yes. Tell us what your auditor needs and when, and we will get the documentation to you rather than leaving your technical team chasing it the week before.

Ready when you are

Need a specification before you commit?

Tell us the product and the standard you are working to. We will send the specification and the relevant certification.
